Churchill (Bone-Dry) Martini

Chilled gin (maybe a vermouth rinse...maybe)

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ ozLondon dry gin
  • 0Vermouth (vermouth is represented by simply looking at an unopened bottle or bowing toward France/Italy or having the bottle waved near the glass)

Method

  1. Pour extremely cold (read: frozen) gin into a stirring glass with a large hunk of ice. Stir until it gets impossibly colder.
  2. Chill (read: freeze) a martini glass. Once frozen, IF (and ONLY IF) absolutely desired, rinse it briefly with dry vermouth then discard the vermouth
  3. Strain gin into said extremely cold martini glass (read: frozen). The glass should be impossibly colder than you've ever seen in your life
  4. Garnish with lemon twist or olive

History

Winston Churchill disdained vermouth. Winston Churchill liked martini glasses. Solution? Drink straight gin in cold martini glasses and pretend it was a martini. Simple. You either have the balls to drink this - or not.
