- ¾ ozlemon juice
- ¾ ozsimple syrup
- 1egg white
Method
- Shake all ingredients with ice and strain back into empty shaker
- Dry shake all ingredients hard
- Strain into pre-chilled rocks glass filled with ice and garnish with lemon wheel and brandied cherry
History
The brandy sour is a variant of the whiskey sour in which brandy is substituted for whiskey (duh). It also gave rise to a class of drinks based off it that incorporated liqueur into the sour base (e.g. the Sidecar). As the sour + liqueur drink class proliferated, they were eventually given a name of their own - the Daisy. The recipe here is the original plain brandy sour as I like to make it, following the standard 2:1:1 ratio of base:citrus:sweet.
